It was a grueling two weeks of packing, working full time and finally making the move from waaay out on the farm to the new digs in Manhattan.

The computers are set up, internet cruisin and I am back in business in the Big Apple. I have spent most of today checking out a number of artists I am not familiar with, many from Japan, the UK, France, Italy, Brazil, Portugal and Greece. Here are a few worth checking out:

The recipe is coming...gotta work up an appetite...

If you don't already know of him, fans of the sounds of Steve Reich or Phillip Glass will enjoy the compositions of Patrick Dorobisz, from France.

From the UK, unsigned band Illiyun commands the stage with a tight sound and performance that is just pure sexy!

...Thirdly, an artist from Brazil who is highly creative and building a movement of contemporary classical work in Rio. Much more to be heard from this artist, Leo Alves Vieira.

Fifth Reaction, Leo Alves Vieira

And now the recipe....this one is from Japan and s one of my favorites. Maybe we will add indie-recipes as a regular feature in our forums once they launch.

Tuna and Avocado on Pasta
Tuna_Pasta indie-recipe no. 1 on indizoo

Serving for 4:

Pasta (I like a flat pasta like linguini or fetuccine) 400g/.a 16oz box of pasta will do.

1 piece of tuna steak approx 200g/approx. 1/2 lb

1 ripe avocado

Fresh ground black pepper to taste

Sauce:

Olive Oil 6 tbs

Soy Sauce 4 tbs

Wasabi to taste

Preparation:

Dice or roughly chop the tuna steak, peel and dice the avocado. Add and mix the sauce to each.

You can boil the pasta as you prepare the toppings. When the pasta is ready, serve hot with a topping of the tuna and avocado.

Add ground pepper to taste. Enjoy! Goes great with sake, beer or wine.

Cost of the dish works out to under $2 each for four persons. To finish up the meal how about a bit of contemporary shamisen, Cherry Blossom by Hiro.

Got any good recipes to share with the music community? Let me know!
