From Classical to Experimental, Italian music is flexing it's creativity on the world stage...
I have been enjoying a wonderful mix of music from Italy. There seems to be a new renaissance in the all the arts with music artists as diverse as the likes of Monje and his experimentations with the didgeridoo to
Monje and didgeridoo the passionate and sensual compositions of Riccardo Principe (Corde Oblique),
Riccardo Principe lastest album release violinist Vito Mercurio and his talented famiglia,
Vito Mercurio violinist the dark and theatrical music of Aquefrigide, (don't miss his website )

And the home grown gritty punk, rock music of bands like Black Circus Tarantula (check out their interview on indizoo) and Deflore.

....And many more. Italy is definitely making it's way into my travel plans as a regular destination.
Anomolo is an Italian net label that just launched their new English language website. The press release is below. I can't add much more to it. Marco Fagotti and Anomolo is joining a movement of people who want to reach across geographic, language, cultural and political borders to become part of a world community.
Anomolo is a great site to get to know the mind and music of a collective of Italian indie music artists. Anomolo has also put out the invite to submit your work as well.
I particularly enjoyed the eclectic sounds of Mauro Mercatanti. He is evidently making his name in underground Milan and his band truly does play in any genre imaginable...you can hear a few in the tracks he has available on Anomolo...would love to have translations of his lyrics.

Anomolo is an Italian net-label that has been producing and distributing for free through its website original musical works by new artists since 2002.
Among the first ones in the world to do that, with a counter marking more than 470.000 downloads, we are getting ready to publish the version number 3 of the website, also in English "… it's a long time we've been thinking about going out of our domestic border and now, with this new website release, we're ready to do it.
We would like to extend our idea of musical production to rest of the world, 'cause we believe that's a current way to face this complicated historic period we're passing through. While big publishing and business empire are collapsing, music lives a moment of great creative profusion, boundaries were knocked down by new technologies and internet. Languages from different countries began to confront each other without any useless intermediaries. It makes no sense staying at home when you can be everywhere, it's a cultural choice. We have now the opportunity to let artistic experience evolve in other directions and we have to " says Marco Fagotti, net-label manager.
From the website you can download for free all productions released with Creative Common license and get in touch with the label to present your works.
The official new website has been released on the 31st January.
