This year's festival in the ancient medina of Essaouira has just ended. This port town on the Atlantic coast of Morocco has been host to Phoneacian, Roman, Arab, Andalusian, Spanish, and Portuguese cultures and it seems a most fitting place to host this yearly world music festival that attracts musical influences great and small from all the world.
