Spiritual awakening is elusive and arrives when least expected. This was the experience of Smallman Band from Bulgaria and we have a chance to witness it in their album titled Smallman.

Smallman band's music is the most enriching music I have heard in some time. It reels with the passion of a region that is largely ignored by the world. One that is steeped in the rich and bloody history of the Byzantine, Bulgarian and Ottoman Empires. Smallman Band seems to conjure these spirits into a whirl of Balkan fire...
